Lamisil Once 1.5mg tabletLamisil Cream is an effective treatment for athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). The active ingredient in Lamisil Cream is Terbinafine hydrochloride. Lamisil Cream is applied topically to the skin and it works to kill the fungi that cause athlete’s foot.
Lamisil Cream is safe to use for the treatment of athlete’s foot (tinea corporis) and tinea pedis (tinea cruris), but application may cause skin irritation or bleeding, itching and rash. You should apply Lamisil Cream to the affected area five times a day for three days. If you are using this treatment for athlete’s foot and do not get an erection after three doses, do not apply this treatment to your skin.
You should not use Lamisil Cream if you have a known allergy to Terbinafine or other anti-fungal medicines (e.g. ketoconazole). Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have a history of any other health problems that arise during or after using this treatment.
Lamisil Cream may cause a mild rash, itching, and swelling of the scalp. This rash usually develops in the first week of treatment, but it is usually mild. If you develop rash on treatment, contact your doctor immediately.
You should not use Lamisil Cream if you are allergic to any medicines. Stop using this treatment and tell your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible if you notice chest pain, trouble breathing or dizziness. It may cause a serious condition called Priapism (prolonged erection).
Lamisil Cream may cause a low blood level of potassium in the blood, which may cause a serious condition known as hypokalemia (low potassium levels in the blood). Your doctor may recommend that you should drink plenty of fluids (such as water or potassium-sparing diuretics) while you are using this treatment.
This treatment should be stopped before 3 to 6 days of treatment if your blood potassium level is still below the level needed to treat hypokalemia.
If you are breastfeeding, pregnant or planning to become pregnant while using this treatment, talk to your doctor before you use it. It is important to tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicines.
Lamisil Cream is not recommended for use by children below 12 years of age.
Do not use Lamisil Cream if you have:
A skin rash of the scalp on treatment.
Liver disease.
Kidney disease.
Allergic skin reaction (asthma).
